The new Fluvanna High School campus will accommodate the growing student population and community by providing space for 1500 students on opening day in 2012, with the ability to expand to accommodate 1750 students in the short term and 2500 in the long term. Expansion will be achieved through both the physical environment and emerging uses of technology in teaching and learning.
This project will use the natural resources of its site to help make the building as efficient as possible and the building will be oriented to lower heat gains and to provide natural light. Fluvanna HS will be a LEED candidate.
This replacement high school was designed to be a focal point of the community serving students and county residents, and is the result of many years of planning for both facilities and curriculum.
