VCU School of the Arts

Dean's Suite Renovations

Due to program growth, VCU’s School of the Arts’ administration had been dispersed throughout campus. The administration needed to be grouped together to improve efficiency and workflow. In order to accomplish the design goals, our team united the entire administrative group for the School of the Arts into the main studio and art classroom building on campus, the Pollack Building.

The Arts admissions office was moved into the first floor, to create a welcoming entry for the school. The Dean’s Suite was moved into a portion of the second floor with a new pronounced front entry to give presence from the stairs and elevators. The final design realized the client’s desire for a bright, open, welcoming, and efficient space worthy of the country’s number one public arts and design program.
