BCWH has worked closely with The Richmond Montessori School to develop a master plan that combines two adjacent pieces of property into one continuous campus to address current needs and future growth potential. Phase 1 of the master plan is complete and includes a 7,000 sq ft classroom and office building, as well as the site infrastructure to prepare for two additional buildings in the future. This first building consists of 4 staff offices and a conference room facing a wooded area adjacent to the property, and 4 classrooms opening onto a grassy play field that will become the central courtyard of the campus when future phases are complete. The classrooms are designed to be light-filled, with high-ceilings and a glazed north-western exposure. Classrooms are connected to the outdoors with a partially shaded terrace outside each room for lunch breaks and group activities. The future phases of the master plan will include a gymnasium and a second classroom building.
