Guilford College

Master Plan & Grounds Maintenance

The Master Plan for Guilford’s historic campus was prompted by the College’s ambitious goal to expand its population to 3,300 students while respecting the institution’s unique character and Quaker heritage.  We led a multi-disciplinary team that determined what the new facilities were needed while also identifying a number of existing facilities that could be upgraded to help accommodate growth.

More recently, Guilford asked us to help refine their entire grounds maintenance operation. The Grounds Maintenance Plan gives the College a blueprint to improve the ecological health of the campus, increase the operational efficiency of the grounds crews and to use resources in the wisest manner possible. The Plan is also intended to be the catalyst for several capital improvements, including a new main entrance and the removal of parking from several parts of the historic grounds. We are currently designing a plaza and fountain for Founders Hall, the student union.
