New Academic Building Dedicated at Richmond Montessori School

August 25, 2014

Richmond Montessori School starts the 2015 school year with a lot to celebrate! This year marks the School’s 50th anniversary educating students in our community. On Sunday, August 24th, the School dedicated the new Upper Elementary & Science Building on RMS’ North Campus!

Acquired by RMS in 2008, the North Campus was master planned to provide much needed additional instructional and athletic space for the school. The new Upper Elementary & Science Building is the first phase of the School’s tremendously successful “Unfold Our Future” fundraising campaign.

Construction of the new 7,000 square foot building was completed earlier this summer. Teachers have spent the last few weeks moving supplies and furniture into the classrooms and offices in preparation for the new school year. The spacious and brightly day lit classrooms allow for a variety of instructional settings in support of the Montessori educational model. Each classroom has a direct connection to an outdoor learning environment. Inside and out, building materials and colors were chosen to give the building a clean and crisp feeling that maintains a connection to the earth.

During the ribbon cutting ceremony, the building was described as representative of RMS’ passion, commitment, and dedication to the authentic growth and development of its students.

BCWH is proud to have been a part of this wonderful project. We wish Richmond Montessori School continued success!
