Maggie Walker named 14th best public high school in US
Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School for International Studies was named the 14th best public high school in the US by Newsweek and The Daily Beast. The ranking determines which of the nation’s high schools are best preparing students for college. Their methodology was based on indicators of college readiness such as graduation rates, participation in college-level classes via Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) programs, and acceptance into a two- or four-year college program.
BCWH worked with the City of Richmond Public Schools in 2000 to renovate the historic 1930’s high school that was previously abandoned. It is now home to a functional, flexible, diverse, dynamic, and comfortable learning environment that is preparing students for successful college careers. Read more about the Maggie L.
