BCWH Intern Presents During RVA Design Week
Last week marked Richmond AIGA sponsored Design Week. As part of a pre-show for well-known designer, Debbie Millman, four students, two from VCU and two from VSU, were selected to each give a five minute “pecha kucha” style presentation. Each student was allowed to present 20 slides with each slide automatically advancing every 20 seconds.
BCWH Design Intern, John Maitland, spoke about his “journey” in programming in design. Starting in high school with the first drawings which led to his self-taught web-design and web programming language, John’s main idea centered around programming being used to create generative art and design. He showed how form is unique to design systems and their content, and how he likes to synthesize [visual] information on a digital canvas.
John has been an intern at BCWH since February and works closely with the Marketing Department. He is a Junior at VCU majoring in Graphic Design.
